“A Personal Appreciation of D. A. Macfarlane bears warm testimony to a ministry which touched many hearts and lives ..... (and) brings the Christian public again into contact with a ministry which, in memorable ways, communicated the tenderness, the mystery and the power of the grace of God.” —John Tallach, from the Foreword

“Rev. D. A. Macfarlane was a minister of the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland who was very warmly loved and highly respected within her borders. Gifted with a remarkable memory, deeply read in theology and related subjects, with a very wide general knowledge, he was an outstandingly humble man and of a most generous spirit.” —Lord Mackay of Clashfern, adapted with his kind permission from the Foreword to I Shall Arise, edited by John Tallach

J. Cameron Fraser is Pastor of First Christian Reformed Church, Lethbridge, Alberta. He is also author of Thandabantu: The Man Who Loved the People (Guardian Press, 2010) and, with Sonya M.
