Antonio Martinez Ballesteros and the Underground Theatre of Protest in Spain

Revised Doctoral Dissertation

In 1973, I wrote a doctoral dissertation about Spanish underground playwrights who started emerging in the late 1960s and early 1970s as Franco's health started declining and his regime about to end when he passed away in 1975. I was in Spain in 1971 doing research on these playwrights and focused my attention on Antonio Martinez Ballesteros and five other playwrights. I've revised my dissertation from the original 250 or so pages to around 150.
