A short story, complimentary to The Devil & The Deep Blue Sea, based on actual events, set two years later.
Jude and Su have got embroiled in violent civil conflict that threatens to tear New Zealand-Aotearoa apart. Of course NZ being NZ it could only be about Rugby! ('Union' please! Not that boring stop-start nonsense they love across the Ditch in Aussie.) But as the nation’s pride and joy Rugby is also the symbol of the nation’s mind and heart. So when right wing Prime Minister ‘Piggy’ Muldoon invites a ‘whites only’ South African team to tour the country little does he know that he has set NZ on a new path that will change its character and culture for ever.
Photographing the protests at the final test in Auckland Su stumbles on a piece of her lost past and begins her journey to find her true identity.
