The Smallest of the Orphans - A destitute woman in New York gives birth to a tiny baby and the orphanage there is unsure of the newborn’s survival. After feeling that it’s the baby’s only chance for a good life, a friend of the orphanage takes the baby out to Indiana for adoption by a childless couple. This is the story of that little one and how she made her way through life and how she affected the couple that adopted her, with the help of the Lord. Helping Her Husband’s Texas Cattle Ranch To Thrive Once Again - Losing both her husband and her business in New York, a widow corresponds with then joins a cattle rancher in Texas, but is surprised at both the number of men surrounding him at the train station, and the apparent state of finances at the ranch. Immediately, she steps in and tries to help but her opinions are shoved aside as a “mere woman” who cannot be expected to be able to offer any real help and advice to a bunch of cowboys.
