Bebina Bunny's Cabinet of Curiosity is the story of Bebina who, while sunbathing on the island of Paros, finds a message in a bottle. It was written years before by the lovely Bijoux who'd been kidnapped by a pirate. Alone and a prisoner, Bijoux has only her surroundings to keep her company. She finds that observation is a form of dialogue because it permits one to interrelate with the world around them. Bijoux writes down her observations, puts them in little bottles and then throws them out the window in hopes they'll be found and read. Because communicating with others protects us from loneliness.
Reading Bijoux's message in a bottle revolutionizes Bebina's life. Bijoux had taken her limited surroundings and turned them into a museum of sensation. Via attentive observation and curiosity, Bijoux had extended her reality. Bebina resolves to do the same by accumulating 'curiosities'. These curiosities are not objects but ideas and information that Bebina collects, writes down and then puts into empty ouzo bottles. But, unlike Bijoux, Bebina does not throw her bottles away. Instead, she keeps them to create A Cabinet of Curiosities.
The source of these curiosities comes from the history of women, mythology, nature, the body, motion, vibrations, sleep, magnetism and much more. Zeus would not have approved being that, via Pandora's curiosity, he intended to punish mankind. But, despite Zeus' maledictions, curiosity is not a curse and often a cure. Because it provides options.
