Kenvyn and Ignacio: two pals from two different lands, and two very different species as well, who happen to travel the world together in search of what it will take to save the world. Ignacio was born in Mexico, North America and Kenvyn was born on Denniston Plateau in New Zealand. Kenvyn is a shy but knowledgeable and curious kiwi. Kiwis can refer to a person from New Zealand, a small fruit or a bird, which in this case Kenvyn happens to be (for who would want to follow a fruit around the world?). Ignacio is an iguana, a largish reptile, who happens to be a cool guy having lived in Los Angeles for part of his life. When Ignacio was young, his Abuelo, or grandfather, encouraged him to start traveling the world. Following his advice, Ignacio went to New Zealand eventually and met Kenvyn on the Plateau. Kenvyn, on the other hand, had never left the Plateau as he was comfortable with his family and friends there. There was food, water and land – everything he needed to be happy, for all he knew. The two meet at a time when Kenvyn is puzzled by some men he had heard on Denniston Plateau talking about ‘Black Gold’. This sets Kenvyn and Ignacio off on a journey to different lands to search for the information behind this and other puzzling facts about the world today. They first search for the meaning of ‘black gold’ and then the many things that come from it. We hope that you enjoy the journey as much as we enjoyed writing it, and hope that the truth behind the way of the world reveals itself a little more through the research that has gone into this story.
