This book is written to help believers understand the purpose, power and potential of fasting.
Fasting is part of normal New Testament Christianity. Jesus fasted (Luke 4:2). Jesus said to his disciples, “When you fast…” not “if you fast” (Matthew 6:16) The apostle Paul “fasted often”(2 Corinthians 11:27). In his letter to the church at Corinth, Paul advised the married couples not to withhold sexual intimacy from each other, except as they agreed to abstain for a season of fasting and prayer (1 Corinthians 7:5) Through fasting and prayer we are not so much believing for something special, we simply want to see restoration of God’s normal!
Fasting does not change God, it changes us so we are more able to receive from Him and be used by Him. One Word from God can spark revival and move us into Holy Spirit directed and empowered service. This is what transforms nations and changes the world. I pray this book will give you a healthy appetite for fasting.
