If your heart could speak, what would it say?

Place a hand over your chest and meditate on that question for a moment. Might there be traces of disappointment, resentment, and jealousy? For years, those mixed emotions burdened my heart and manifested in my choices. Denial made it impossible for me to see it, however. I just knew that I was unhappy about the direction of my life.

The first step was acknowledging those emotional afflictions. I prayed for a clean heart and was led to begin making spiritual commitments such as fasting, praying more openly and earnestly, and expressing my hurts through creative writing. The turmoil in my heart was slowly replaced with the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding.

This book is a collection of the wisdom that I’ve gathered over the years, in addition to the more troubling memories. It’s an interactive experience, including reflections to give you the purpose of each poem and writing space for you to share your own heart. If you’re ready, then let’s begin healing.
