This collection starts off "Johnny, Jimmy and Joey at Klamath Falls", a zany story of three friends who get together for a weekend in Klamath Falls, Oregon. It's followed by a story of two friends who meet in Madrid in 1967 and encounter each other again in Montreal, Canada in 1976. Other stories include "Three Suns Villa" dealing with strata problems in one of the suburbs of Vancouver; "The Interpreter", a story about a Spanish interpreter who comes across in his job Mexicans seeking refugee status; and finally, two sad stories, "John's Funeral", about a friend who died, and "Dad's Funeral", a story about the author's father who passed away in 2012. Three stories, "Palali", "Mardi Gras with the Montecillos", and "Aunts Luz and Aida" deal with a semi-fictionalized narrative of the author's family, tracing back to his Spanish grandfather.
