It’s so easy to see Fibromyalgia as an enemy that has come to steal our lives away. When we suffer in pain, exhausted from the effort of just surviving each day, it is difficult to see Fibromyalgia as anything but a burden. Most of us just want to rid ourselves of these debilitating symptoms and get back to living our life again. The really interesting thing is that the more we use our symptoms to guide our activities, the less of a hindrance Fibromyalgia seems to become. In fact, over time, we often see that Fibromyalgia is the greatest teacher we’ve ever had. Whenever we need to be reminded that we that we are taking on too much, that we need to find a career that allows us to use our unique talents, that we are feeding our body garbage, that we need to attract supportive relationships in our life, or that we need to finally let go of the past, Fibromyalgia reminds us with a flare up. Really, it’s like that best friend who will tell us the truth when no one else is willing to do so.
