John Locke was an English philosopher and physician, one of the most prominent Enlightenment thinkers, known as the “Father of Liberalism”. “Of the Conduct of the Understanding” is the “continuation” of Locke’s previous essays about Concerning Human Understanding (1690) and “Some Thoughts Concerning Education” (1693). In this work John Locke describes how to think clearly and rationally, also how to educate children. The text was first published in 1706, two years after Locke's death, as part of Peter King's Posthumous Works of John Locke. This text was the most important philosophical work on education in England, so you have a great opportunity to enjoy it!
