Ruben Leigh is a prisoner of the barbarians, at Talbert City, Chief Matrass has pledged to have the famed healer executed. Ruben is rescued by Sunan, and along with the freed prisoners they are pursued by Chief Matrass' barbarians. Ruben and the escapes seek shelter in Willington Town, where the residents are not what they seem, they are like zombies, under the spell of an ancient sorcerer, condemned to eternal life. Ruben Leigh soon discovers those who entre Willington Town share the same fate.

Leader Pilth hatches a plan to steal the gold looted from the East Mountains by King Condor's soldiers, this sparks conflict between the barbarian leaders. For greed, Pilth risks everything. And Commander Montgomery, leader of King Condor's knights, opposes the barbarian threat bringing both sides into battle.

At Longcross Castle, Thistle, the Queen Consort of Longcross' power over King Condor grows as she feeds his addiction for her foul enchantments, securing her hold on the kingdom, as she turns to her husband's allies to assist her to forge an impenetrable army, to assist in her warplans.
