Devon MacGreggor is a History professor at a local college and part time re-enactor as a pirate for the Renaissance Faire. He has been raising his daughter Jessica ever since his wife died a few years ago from stage-four breast cancer. She’s thirteen now and not a little girl as he would like to see her. A single phone call from her middle school changes his fate and ends up taking her shopping for her first bra and comes face to face with his high school sweetheart, Francine Mckenna. On a chance, he asks her out for dinner, and to talk.

Francine McKenna is the owner of Blue 19, a successful clothing store that sells teen clothes, all designed by her. She hadn’t seen Devon since the prom; almost twenty years ago and is shocked by the flood of emotions and memories running through her mind. Back in high school they had been engaged and because of her fear, she gave the ring back. Now here he is, standing in front of her, with a kid of his own.

Francine had just broken up with her on again, off again boyfriend, Greg. He never treated her right. Devon on the other hand was one man she never could forget. Should she take a chance after the heartache she had been through? Would Devon accept her explanation as to “why” she gave the engagement ring back and give her a second chance?
