Darlene’s message is that with love and hope, people can and do overcome adversity. Darlene’s character, Charlotte, is an admirable, brave young girl who endures much turmoil. Darlene shares Charlotte’s courageous journey through a childhood of trauma and loss into an adult world of mental illness and addictions. A worthwhile trip. Many of us live with secrets, however, through the voice of Charlotte, we learn that holding on to secrets can often be more painful than letting go.

“This story needed to be told.” – J.J.
“I am Charlotte in many ways.” – Rosie
“Thank you, Dee.” – T.A.

Based on a true story, Small Town Secrets: Revealed is a must read for people who want an inspirational message.  The author reveals the journey of a small-town girl named Charlotte. The secrets of addiction, mental illness, havoc and chaos are unraveled through the journey of a little girl whom many of us can relate too.  It is about life’s decisions and choices of living in the past or choosing to live in the present. Charlotte must decide “Do I continue to blame others, or do I accept life on life’s terms?”
Throughout the story Charlotte speaks with her social worker, and Charlotte also hears words from the GOD of her understanding.  It is a dialogue that captures the reader’s heart and soul.
This is a brave and courageous deliverance of what unfortunately happens in some people’s lives. Yet, in the end it is a message of hope. It concludes that asking for help is a difficult decision, but it is one that ends up saving Charlotte’s life. This book offers hope to the hopeless. It is an opportunity for people to stand up to the stigma of addictions, mental health and small-town secrets.  In the end Charlotte realizes that she is no longer alone and that she must reveal the secrets that are holding her hostage from revealing her life’s purpose of self-love. A worthwhile journey for Charlotte and the reader in becoming awakened to one’s authentic self.
