Shepherd in Love
The shepherd read a poets lines
And played the pipe to his sheep.
He took the sun up in the sky
And a pretty-faced girl into his dreams.
The river flowed under his feet.
Then he thought again of his sheep.
To an old willow, he leaned,
And for his loneliness, he burst out weeping.
