THE REASON THAT WE WROTE THIS BOOK is quite simple: It had not been written yet.In the last few years the Australian Government has attempted through grants to stimulate innovation in products and services. Unfortunately, bureaucracy has taken hold of this opportunity to enliven new inventions which has resulted in few sizeable grants being approved. This book, whilst based on sound research of the Australian legislation that relates to early stage innovation, is intended to be practical. It provides a roadmap to both companies and investors on the qualifications required for them to participate in this opportunity. The book takes the reader step by step through the qualification process. The examples used in the book are case-based and focus on the problem most frequently found in business decisions. We have written this book to provide a foundation on which consultants, through time and experience, can build. We hope to educate the new generation and challenge the old.
