The Abandoned Women is about George Bannerman’s personal achievements and experiences in his service to the Liberian refugees at Buduburam Camp around Kasoa in the Central Region of Ghana. The book is a story about his effort at bringing hope and inspiring them to realize that the Creator Almighty, the Great Provider, loves them.

The book underscores the fact that if the world has turned its back on them, God has not turned His back on them and if the world has abandoned them, God has not. God still loves them and they are jewels in the sight of God.

George Bannerman is the first born of a family of nine. He was born in 1963 into a poor family in a small village with hardly enough to make ends meet. Such a background of poverty had a permanent impact on George and made him very sensitive and sympathetic to the plight of the poor, vulnerable, orphans, street-children, homeless, widows, and refugees.

He did his basic education and high school in Ghana. He continued his education at Fanshawe College, in London, Ontario.

George Bannerman is Executive Director of Ministerial Development and Relief Programme, a Canadian Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). He is a philanthropist.
