On June 18-19, 2002, the Bureau of Reclamation and Department of History at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, hosted a symposium on the history of Reclamation. The symposium was held in conjunction with the Bureau's centennial anniversary birthday party at Hoover Dam. Reclamation's history is a rich tapestry filled with the politics, colorful personalities, and the unique character of the West.
