Just as there are numerous 'school's which interpret the Buddha, and churches which interpret Christ, so too there are various ‘Marxist’, ‘Leninist’, ‘Trotskyist’ and Maoist interpreters of Marx and Lenin.
Lenin’s works are freely available (on www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/cw and www.marx2mao.com/Lenin/Index), but there is so much of his writings — 45 volumes in his Collected Works, and even these don’t include everything he wrote — that some culling is necessary for certain purposes: for the beginner; for the essence or main things of Leninism; and even what is relevant ninety-three years after his death.
Every ‘Marxist’ group purports to follow the teachings of Lenin, but they all omit many of his crucial points that arise from his Marxist position. I found many surprising and controversial statements by Lenin in my long and detailed research of his 45-volume Collected Works.
This one-volume selection will remind the reader just how revolutionary Lenin was. Most of the Left have forgotten this, because Stalin gradually smuggled reformism and “Centrism” (Lenin's term – those who verbally assent to Marxism, but want unity with the Reformists) into the Communist International, and gradually discarded Bolshevism in the process. Most of the Left rejected the internal policies of Stalin, and the slavish obedience he demanded, but most have never realised how Stalin emasculated “Bolshevism”, falsified it, and replaced it with fake "Marxism". Most of my selections from Lenin's books, articles, theses, proposals and speeches in this book show this.
Here then, are what I consider to be Lenin’s most important writings, many of which are totally ignored by most current ‘Marxists’. With the 100th Anniversary of the Bolshevik-led workers' revolution on November 6-7 this year, I think there will be great interest in this work. I am not a member nor exclusive-supporter of any current political group, party or state.
