George Schachter, aka Harry "Big Greenie" Greenberg was a Murder Inc., associate who was gunned down in his Ford convertible coupe on Thanksgiving Eve, 1939. Greenberg was raised in New York's East Side with future Murder Inc., leaders Louis Lepke Buchalter and Jacob "Gurrah" Shapiro. Greenberg was deported by federal agents in 1935. He jumped ship before reaching his native Poland. Returning to North America, he settled for a time in Montreal. While there he mailed a letter to New York, threatening to turn government evidence against his New York mobster allies. This effectively sealed his doom.
