The Legend of the Christmas Dachshund tells the story of a brave little dachshund named Jacob, who, after a long journey to the Middle East many centuries ago, finds himself part of a family of Bethlehem innkeepers. Besides being a companion for the innkeepers children, Jacobs main task is to keep mice and rats out of the stable. The story recounts the arrival of Mary and Joseph, the birth of a very special baby, and the visits of shepherds and wise men from the east, all under the watchful eyes of Jacob. In the middle of that first night, rats attempt to attack the baby and Jacob chases them away, becoming injured in the process. He limps to the manger, and in the presence of the baby Jesus, receives a miracle, creating a special memory Jacob will never forget and a Christmas legend that can now be told!
