The reality is that Uttar Pradesh is fast developing as a modern commercial hub but it still retains many of the hallmarks of a frontier market, which goes some way to explaining why it has not yet appeared on the radar screens of business analysts, investors, private equity houses and venture capital firms. Scouring the quality international business media for insights reveals fairly slim pickings. There is not a lot of depth of information to be had easily and this is the gap that the present volume hopes to fill: It is not the simplest of markets to enter, but that is why there are still plentiful business opportunities for hardy entrepreneurs and investors who are willing to blaze a trail and take full advantage of being one of the first movers: if it was easy to simply move in and make money, everyone would be doing it.
